It is not a season of shopping.

When did the holiday season become the season of shopping? We are going back, way back. This is the season of giving. Giving of one’s self, giving what you can, making the world a better place.

We strongly believe that education can cure everything. War, global warming, disease, poverty, all of the above. Education is the magic elixir. We want to help those less fortunate around the world and also here in the United States. We have elected the One Laptop Per Child campaign. For every unit we donate globally we will donate the dollar equivalent locally to a charity focusing on education and enrichment. And right now the “$100.00 laptop” is two for one, doubling your giving power.

Please do what you can. And before you give anyone a gift card consider that something like this would be a gift to us all. That and the business selling gift cards take eight-percent of the value and billions of dollars in these cards go unused each year (link). I can not think of a better gift than a charitable donate and there is nothing more I would rather receive. Yeah I know it sounds a little touchy-feely and it took us a while personally to get here to but at the least please consider it or some other alternative.

Nicholas Negroponte: In developing countries, “the parents love it because when they (the children) open up the laptop, it’s the brightest light in the house”

Whether it’s this or another charity just give. It’s the season.

Things are about to change…..

Huge changes in the works. We’ve been busy with a few projects but IOI and actually RSM will be back better and larger than ever.

Hang in there, it’s going to get interesting.

Summer Dual Computer Time Saver

Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It’s intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own monitor(s).

I was on my way to Best Buy to purchase another KVM switch when I ran across this program, it has since become a staple in my tool bag and a useful item to all here at RSM.

Here is an Engadget article on the set-up process (NOTE: the demo covers an older version but should demo the process) : SHARE YOUR KEYBOARD AND MOUSE
